Containment 16
Containment 16 : Relates to an approval granted for a hazardous substance or new organism in containment. Containment means restricting organisms or hazardous substances to a secure location or facility to prevent escape. In respect of genetically modified organisms, includes field testing and large-scale fermentation. Controls on containment for both hazardous substances and new organisms are derived from the Third Schedule of the HSNO Act
