Contract 2 : A legally binding agreement (oral or written) between two or more persons or organizations creating an obligation to do or not to do a particular thing. The essentials are competent parties, legal subject matter, consideration (value), mutual understanding, and mutual obligations, e.g. an insurance policy, bill of lading, and charter party.
