Contract of Affreightment 4 : The document evidencing the terms of carriage between a shipper and a carrier. It is usually expressed in the Bill of Lading and is subject to the Carriage of Goods by Sea Act (COGSA) if a U.S. port and a foreign port are involved, or the Harter Act if two U.S. ports are involved.
