Contracting Officer 2 : A federal Government official who, in accordance with DOE or agency procedures, currently is designated as a contracting officer with the authority to enter into and administer contracts, financial assistance awards, and sales contracts and make determinations and findings with respect thereto, or any part of such authority. The term also includes the designated representative of the contracting officer acting within the limits of his/her authority
