Converted Waves :
Conversion of P to S waves and S to P waves occurs at a discontinuity for non-normal incidence angle (See: Fig. 2.31 ??? in Chapter 2 of this Manual). Converted waves sometimes show distinct arrivals on seismograms and may be used to determine the location of the discontinuity
