Cooling Systems (for Fire Pumps) : There are two types of cooling systems in general use direct and indirect. In both types water is by-passed from the pump. In the direct system, cooling water is introduced into the circulating water jacket of the engine, while in the indirect system water is by-passed through a cooling coil in the header tank of the independent cooling system
