Coping Capacity 04 : The ability of people or organizations, using available resources and skills, to face and manage adverse conditions that potentially could lead to a disaster. Comment: In general, this ability involves awareness, resources and good management both in normal times as well as during crises or adverse conditions. The strengthening of coping capacities is a means to build resilience to the effects of natural and human-induced hazards. (ISDR)
