Correlation 2

Correlation 2 : (Statist) Relationship, degree of association, or index of prediction between two scores or sets of data. A measure of the tendency of one function, parameter, score or set of data to vary in relation to another; e. g. , the tendency of students with a high IQ to be above average in reading ability. Note: The existence of a strong relationship (a high correlation) between two variables does not necessarily indicate that one has any causal influence on the other. usually expressed as a decimal coefficient between -1. 00 and +1. 00 (Pearson v), where -1. 00 indicates a perfect negative relationship, 0 indicates no relationship, and +1. 00 indicates a perfect positive relationship. The Pearson v coefficient of correlation can assume any value on a continuum between -1. 00 and +1. 00
