Cosmopolitanism
Cosmopolitanism : A political theory that emphasizes individuals' obligations to all other human beings. It rejects the communitarian position that a person's moral obligations end at the political borders of our community. When asked where he came from, the ancient Greek philosopher, Diogenes the Cynic responded by saying he was a 'citizen of the world'. Cosmopolitanism does not deny local or national attachments and obligations; it just does not see why they must always be privileged.
