Blizzard 4
Blizzard 4 : A severe winter storm lasting four or more hours. It is characterized by low temperatures, strong winds and poor visibility due to blowing snow. True blizzard conditions are most common on the prairies of Canada and the United States. Blizzards are a rare occurrence in Atlantic Canada.The Meteorological Service of Canada has listed the following general criteria for issuing blizzard warnings in Canada: (1) visibility less than 1 km (2) temperature less than -10 degrees C 3) in Atlantic Canada wind speeds greater than 40 km per hour.
