Defendant Status : The status of the Defendant, according to pre-defined categories: (1) Type: Individual, Description: A self employed person or an individual who has responsibilities under the Health and Safety at work Act 1974; (2) Type: Sole Proprietor, Description: Sole Proprietor; (3) Type: Limited Company, Description: Limited Company; (4) Type: Employee, Description: Employee; (5) Type: Private Company, Description: Any incorporated company whether limited (by shares or guarantee) or unlimited. Public limited companies are included; (6) Type: Partnership, Description: Any number of individual partners trading as a partnership, probably with a trading name; (7) Type: Local Authority, Description: District, town, city, county, or metropolitan councils, and any other form of local government; (8) Type: Central Government, Description: Government departments e.g. Ministry of Defence, Department of Transport, Social Security; (9) Type: National Health Service, Description: NHS bodies, irrespective of funding arrangements, and including NHS Trusts; (10) Type: Other, Description: All other client types; (11) Type: Public Limited Company (plc), Description: A Public Limited Company under British law; (12) Type: Agricultural Research, Description: Agriculural Research
