Density, Bulk : The storage of a commodity usually expressed as kg or tonnes per cubic metre. It will be appreciated that irregular-shaped pieces such as lumps of coal when stowed in a space does not occupy the whole of that space due to the voids between the lumps. It follows that the smaller the particle size, the closer is the bulk density to the real density of the material
