Department of Homeland Security, Critical Infrastructure Protection - Decision Support System (CIP-DSS) : "The CIP-DSS provides a unique, scientifically-informed approach for prioritizing critical infrastructure protection strategies and resource allocations. Using modeling, simulation, and analyses to assess vulnerabilities, consequences, and risks, the system develops and evaluates protection, mitigation, response, and recovery strategies and technologies; and provides real-time support during crises and emergencies to leadership within the Department and the rest of the government. This measure demonstrates the availability of actionable information to help protect U.S. critical infrastructure from acts of terrorism, natural disasters, and other emergencies".
