Desalting 1
Desalting 1 : This is a form of emulsion treating which may be identical to conventional treaters with the addition of supplemental injection and mixing of low salinity water into the feed emulsion to dilute the brine phase and thereby lower the salt content of the treated crude. Desalting is used both in oil producing areas and refineries. It may consist of one or more states to achieve maximum desalting efficiency. (Spec 12L)
