Design Assurance Level - DAL
Design Assurance Level - DAL : All of those planned and systematic actions used to substantiate, at an adequate level of confidence, that design errors have been identified and corrected such that the items (hardware, software) satisfy the applicable certification basis. This term may be used in some SAE and RTCA documents, but in this AC it is intended that design assurance levels will correlate to same levels as the DALs for the safety assessment process
