Detour Route
Detour Route : A route that takes traffic off the regular route and, using existing or newly made temporary roadways, guides traffic around a work zone. The detour route must be clearly identified by appropriate detour signs. (Prior to the closing of a roadway and the opening of a detour, it is desirable to erect "Closing Notice" signs at strategically selected locations at least one week in advance of the closing)
