Deviation Control Techniques - Fulcrum Technique
Deviation Control Techniques - Fulcrum Technique : Utilizes a bending moment principle to create a force on the bit to counteract reaction forces which are tending to push the bit in a given direction. Mechanical Technique: Utilizes bottom-hole equipment which is not normally a part of the conventional drill string to add deviation control. This equipment acts to force the bit to turn the hole in inclination. Packed-hole Technique: Utilizes the hole wall to minimize the bending of the bottom-hole assembly. Pendulum Technique: The basic principle involved is gravity or the "plum-bob effect". (Bul D20)
