Differential-Pressure (Wall) Sticking

Differential-Pressure (Wall) Sticking : Sticking which occurs because part of the drill string (usually the drill collars) becomes embedded in the filter cake resulting in a nonuniform distribution of pressure around the circumference of the pipe. The conditions essentially for sticking require a permeable formation and a pressure differential across a nearly impermeable filter cake and drill string. (Bul 10C, Bul D11)
