Digital Emergency Alert System (DEAS) 1 : "The Digital Emergency Alert System-National Capital Region (DEAS-NCR) pilot has been designed to demonstrate how the capabilities of America's public broadcasters can be utilized to dramatically enhance the capabilities of the President to address the American people in the event of a national emergency.
