Direct Cooling 2 : In direct cooling systems the water in the header tank is used to cool the engine until the pump is at work. A small quantity of the pump water is then by-passed direct from the pump to the water jacket in the cylinder blocks, and after circulating through the water passages in the engine is discharged to waste via the overflow from the header tank
