Directorate of Military Support (DOMS), DOD/DOA : "The Army operates DOMS as the executive agent for the Department of Defense. The agency's mission is to plan for and commit DoD resources in response to requests from civil authorities -- often in the form of emergency requests for assistance in responding to natural or manmade disasters or civil disturbances. Other DOMS functions include special event support and assisting in domestic preparedness implementation in response to weapons of mass destruction.
