Disaster Category Classification 3 : Goals: The goals of this initiative are: (1) Create and agree on a common hierarchy and terminology for all global and regional databases on natural disasters; (2) Establish a common and agreed definition of disaster groups, main types and sub-types that is simple and self-explanatory. The conditions are to allow all global databases to compare and exchange data at a detailed level, as well as all other databases using this standard to do the same
