Disaster Declaration Officer 2 : The Disaster Declaration Officer is assigned the task, responsibility and authority to declare a disaster and activate the appropriate level of plan. This person is appointed and given the line of authority which is documented in the BCM process manual. Note: This approach is standard in the US but in Europe the declaration is more likely to be the responsibility of the Incident Management Team Leader
