Join the Team: More than 17 million Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers play an essential role in supporting their communities throughout the world. Interested in Volunteering Overseas? The IFRC does not recruit volunteers to work overseas. Nor do we coordinate exchange programmes between National Societies. A small number of National Societies do send some volunteers overseas and there are numbers of National Societies who receive international volunteers, if you are interested in these opportunities you should contact the National Society directly. The IFRC's volunteering development programme provide Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies with tools and resources to provide a favourable internal and external environment that encourages and facilitates the work of volunteers, as well as promotes volunteerism across all sectors of civil society
