Today, as ever they are central to all activities of the Red Cross and Red Crescent, contributing to the success of our National Societies and assisting millions of vulnerable people in times of greatest need. Join the Team: More than 17 million Red Cross and Red Crescent volunteers play an essential role in supporting their communities throughout the world. Interested in Volunteering Overseas? The IFRC does not recruit volunteers to work overseas. Nor do we coordinate exchange programmes between National Societies. A small number of National Societies do send some volunteers overseas and there are numbers of National Societies who receive international volunteers, if you are interested in these opportunities you should contact the National Society directly.
