Dislocation 4

Dislocation 4 : In seismology, the displacement discontinuity (slip) associated with faulting on an internal surface. In physics, dislocation generally refers to the line bounding of an internal surface subject to uniform slip, in which case the segments of the dislocation may be described as edge, screw, or mixed depending upon whether the slip is perpendicular, parallel, or oblique to the line.
