Electromagnetic Induction
Electromagnetic Induction : The production of an electromotive force (e. m. f. in a circuit by a change of magnetic flux through the circuit. The e. m. f. so produced is known as an Induced e. m. f: and any current that may result therefrom as an Induced current. If the change of magnetic flux is due to a variation in the current flowing in the same circuit, the phenomenon is known as Self-Induction; if clue to a change of current flowing in another circuit, as Mutual induction. Electric generators, static transformers, and induction motors depend upon electromagnetic induction for their operation
