Elements of construction : This term covers: structural framework, walls (internal and external), floors, roofs, stairs and enclosures to floor openings. In this design guidance it is given a slightly broader meaning than in some official guidance. It includes, for example, the roof of a building, a feature not covered by the definition of the similar term 'element of structure' in Approved Document B to the Building Regulations
