Fire alarm indicating equipment : The part of a fire alarm system located at protected premises which provides indication of any fire alarm or fault warning signal received from fire alarm control equipment. (BS 4422(4)). The indicator equipment reveals the location, by name or number of the origin of the fire alarm (or fault). There may also be a plan (or mimic) indicator on which the signal appears on a plan of the building. A sub-indicator panel is a subsidiary indicator panel used in large installations to provide local zone indication and to bring them together for transmission to the control equipment
