Bonding 01 : (1) (Electr) Interconnection of metal parts of a structure to form a continuous electrical circuit. Used principally to prevent buildup of static charges and arcing. Note: Bonding alone does not ensure that static charge buildup will not occur. A continuous electrical path to ground is required to drain off static electricity. The connection between metal parts is called a bonding jumper. (2) (Chem) Chemical forces between atoms in a molecule. (3) (Techn) Cementing or adhering of surfaces together
