Fixation Errors
Fixation Errors : When errors occur because a person becomes so convinced that their first interpretation of the environment is correct that they do not seek disconfirming evidence that would challenge their assumptions. Human beings are susceptible to falling into the trap of making fixation errors because of the way we process information from our environment. We have a tendency to make assumptions based on our past experience and this leaves us vulnerable to our assumptions being incorrect. (Bogner, 1994)
