Indirect Application 3

Indirect Application 3 : A method of fire fighting, formally introduced by Chief Lloyd Layman, of injecting water particles into a heated atmosphere over a fire instead of putting water directly on the fire; the water particles change to steam and increase in volume of approximately 1 to 1,800, and they cool and smother the fire at the same time.
