Industrial Occupancy 1 : (Fire Pr) factory or plant manufacturing one or more products or a property devoted to processing, assembling, mixing, packaging, finishing or decorating, repairing, and similar operations. Note: General industrial occupancy is one in which all manufacturing, except high-hazard operations, are conducted in conventional buildings suitable for the type of manufacture housed. High-hazard industrial occupancy is a factory, plant, or property having contents which are liable to burn with extreme rapidity or which may generate poisonous fumes, gases, or explode in the event of fire. Special purpose industrial occupancy includes all buildings, except high-hazard occupancies, that are designed and suitable only for particular types of operations, characterized by a relatively low density of employee population with much of the area occupied by machinery or equipment
