Initial Response Force (IRF)
Initial Response Force (IRF) : Disaster Management. An emergency action organization tasked to provide first response to a chemical accident/incident at an installation assigned a chemical surety mission or in the public domain. The IRF performs the following functions: (a) Rescue operations. (b) Accident site security. (c) Firefighting. (d) Initiation of appropriate explosive ordnance material procedures. (e) Radiation monitoring. (f) Establishment of command, control, and communication. (g) Public affairs activities
