In-Service Inspection 2 : Inspection of structures, systems and components undertaken over the operating lifetime by or on behalf of the operating organization for the purpose of identifying age related degradation or conditions that, if not addressed, might lead to the failure of structures, systems or components. Inspection of operational activities, processes, etc. by or on behalf of the operating organization would normally be described by terms such as self-assessment and audit.
