Insurance Grading Schedule : The Grading Schedule for Municipal Fire Protection is published and copyrighted by the Insurance Services Office (ISO); it provides a yardstick for ISO insurance grading engineers who must classify municipalities with reference to their fire defenses and physical conditions. Gradings obtained under the schedule are used throughout the U. S. to establish base rates for fire insurance; a similar schedule exists in Canada, published by the Insurers Advisory organization.
