Interim Biological Agent Detector (IBAD) - Rapid Prototype 1 : Detector that provides a near-term solution to a deficiency in shipboard detection of biological warfare agents. This equipment is capable of detecting an increase in the particulate background, which may indicate a man-made biological attack is underway, and sampling the air for identification analysis. It can also detect a change in background within 15 minutes and can identify biological agents within an additional 30 minutes
