International Labour Organization (ILO) 4 : The International Labour Organization was established in 1919 as part of the Treaty of Versailles. It became a United Nations specialized agency in 1946. Its objectives are to improve working and living conditions through the adoption of Conventions and Recommendations setting minimum standards for wages, hours of work, conditions of employment, social security, labour administration, tripartite cooperation, industrial relations, social dialogue, etc. See: International Labour Conference; International Labour office; International labour standards; Tripartism
