Inversion 10

Inversion 10 : Given a model hypothesized for explaining a set of observed data, inversion is a procedure for determining the model parameters from the observed data. Various issues involved in this procedure, such as the evaluation of the resolution and error in the estimated parameters, constitute the inverse problem. In contrast the prediction of observables for a model with assumed parameters is called the forward problem.
