Inversion 13


Inversion 13 : The atmospheric condition in which temperature within a vertical layer of air increases with altitude, resulting in a very stable atmosphere. This is contrary to the usual situation in which temperature decreases with height. The term "inversion" may also be applied to other meteorological properties. However, in fire management its usage is generally restricted to a temperature inversion based at the earth's surface C a common occurrence in the early morning hours during the fire season
