MAA 6 : Mutual Aid Agreement. A pre-arranged agreement between two or more entities, public and/or private, to render services in terms of human, materiel and data resources when essential resources of one party are not adequate to meet the needs of a disaster or other emergency. Financial aspects for post-disaster or post-incident reimbursements may be incorporated into the agreement. Many functional needs other than those of first responders may be served such as state-to-state lending of building officials to assess damages or of prison guards, city-to-city lending of accounting personnel, ngo's engaged in animal welfare management, blood banks, or newspapers as to printing and distribution.
