Magnetic Lineation
Magnetic Lineation : Stripe patterned magnetic anomalies observed in oceanic areas. They are generally 10-20 km wide and many hundred kilometers long with amplitude of many hundred nT (nano Tesla). Their origin is explained by the Vine-Matthews-Morley theory (Vine and Matthews, 1963). See Uyeda (2002), Raff and Mason (1961), Cox (1973), Uyeda (1978), Duff (1993), and Merrill et al. (1998)
