Major Air Disaster :
An aircraft incident occurring in Canada which, because of the number of people involved, requires augmentation of established search and rescue resources. This is any plane crash involving more than six people is referred to as a Major Air Disaster. In the event of a MAJAID, every available SAR Tech is loaded onto the first airplane and flown to the crash site. Once the SAR Techs parachute to the ground, the senior SAR Tech takes over responsibility for the scene; others set up triage and treatment facilities."catastrophe aronautique". (Marine SAR/Risk)
