Reactor 02 : (Nucl Phys) An atomic furnace in which nuclei of a radioactive fuel undergo controlled fission. Note: Fission is initiated by neutrons and in turn produces new neutrons in a chain reaction. This releases large quantities of energy, which may be used to produce electricity.
