Receiver Functions
Receiver Functions : Seismic wave field caused by scattered teleseismic P or S phases beneath a station (P-to-S or S-to-P converted waves and their multiples at crustal or upper mantle discontinuities). Since the scattered waves are very small, many traces must be summed before inversion into a velocity-depth model. Before summation, source equalization is usually applied by spectral division of radial and vertical components. See also H/V spectral ratio
