Reference Individual 1
Reference Individual 1 : An idealized human with characteristics defined by the ICRP for radiation protection purposes. Reference values for eight reference individuals - a newborn; a one-year-old; a five-year-old; a tenyear-old; male and female fifteen-year-olds; and male and female adults - are given in ICRP 89. These reference values are based on data for western European and North American populations, but ICRP 89 also provides additional information on individual variation among grossly normal individuals resulting from differences in age, gender, race and other factors. This is a refinement of the Reference Man concept
