Reflectance 1

Reflectance 1 : The ratio of reflected power to incident power. In ecological uses, reflectance is a measure of the ability of a surface to reflect light or other electromagnetic radiation. Examples include the amount of light energy "bouncing off" of a leaf surface, compared to the amount of light striking the leaf surface, or, at a larger scale, the amounts of light (in different wavelengths, measured by satellite sensors) "bouncing off" of water surfaces or land areas dominated by snow or ice cover, forests, grasslands, agricultural activities, or urban structures
