Relocation 08 : The non-urgent removal or extended exclusion of people from a contaminated area to avoid chronic exposure. Relocation is a longer term protective action. It may be a continuation of the urgent protective action of evacuation. Relocation is considered to be permanent relocation (sometimes termed [resettlement]) if it continues for more than a year or two and return is not foreseeable; otherwise it is temporary relocation
