Respirable Fraction (RF)
Respirable Fraction (RF) : The fraction of airborne radionuclides as particles that can be transported through air and inhaled into the human respiratory system, as defined in DOEHDBK-3010-94. The RF is commonly assumed to include particles "10 mm Aerodynamic Equivalent Diameter (AED) and less." The RF represents the fraction of the airborne material that contributes to the effect or consequence of concern
