Response 14 : "Response includes activities to address the immediate and short-term actions to preserve life, property, environment, and the social, economic, and political structure of the community. Response activities include: (1) Emergency shelter, housing, food, water and ice; (2) Search and rescue; (3) Emergency medical and mortuary services; (4) Public health and safety; (5) Decontamination following a chemical, biological or radiological attack; (6) Removal of threats to the environment; (7) Emergency restoration of critical services (electric power, water, sewer, telephone); (8) Transportation, logistics, and other emergency services; (9) Private sector provision of needed goods and services through contracts or donations; and (10) Secure crime scene, investigate and collect evidence".
