Reverse Fault 4

Reverse Fault 4 : A fault that involves lateral shortening, where one block (the hanging wall) moves over another (the footwall) up the dip of the fault, i.e., the movement of the hanging wall is upward relative to the footwall. The maximum compressive stress is horizontal, and the least compressive stress is vertical. Reverse faults that dip less than about 30 degrees are often called "thrust fault".
